Tour Plan

01

Day 1: Arrival in Leh evening explore Shanti Stupa & Market

On arrival at Kushok Bakula airport in Leh (situated at a height of 3,500 meters), you will be transferred to your hotel. Leh Flight is considered one of the most sensational flights in the world. During the day, acclimatize yourself with the weather and high pressure of Ladakh.

Evening visit to Shanti Stupa built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura. Shanti stupa provides beautiful and panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. It was built to promote world peace and a symbol of the ties between Japan and Ladakh.

Finally, In the evening, take a walk to the local bazaar in Leh.

Day 2: Leh – Alchi – Likir – Leh (Excursion)

After delicious breakfast at the hotel, and get ready for an amazing trip to Alchi one of the oldest monasteries and have scriptures dated as old as 10th century.The village Alchi differentiates itself from other villages of Ladakh by being so lush green. The excitement of the day will begin with Hall of fame (A Museum built by Indian Army) visit Gurdwara Pathar Sahib which was built in 1517 in the memory of Guru Nanak. Visit to the famous Magnetic Hill will be the next. Placed on Leh-Kargil-Srinagar Highway, at an altitude of 11,000 feet above the sea level, it is also known as Gravity hill. You will be visiting Sangam Point or the confluence point of Zanskar and Indus rivers.

While drive back to Leh enroute visit to Likir Monastery, houses a 25 feet Lord gold covered Buddha Statue. Views from the terrace are amazing. You will be amused to see the models created with butter which do not melt. Time to leave towards Leh.

Day 3: Leh – Pangong Lake – Leh (Excursion 160 kms )

After a delicious breakfast an excursion is scheduled to Pangong Lake via Changla Pass (17,586 feet) third highest pass of the world. Pangong Lake is salt water, 120 km in length and 6 – 7 Km broad at the longest point. It is bisected by the international border between India & China. Visit the exact location of the famous movie “Three idiots” & enjoy outing along the banks of the lake. One really feels very close to nature at Pangong Lake with its scenic surroundings. Drive back to Leh.

Day 4: Leh – Monastery Tour – Leh (Excursion)

After a delicious breakfast at your camp leave for the day excursion to enjoy a comfortable

3 Idiots School: The School was featured in a 2007 episode as the Amir Khan movie 3 idiots. The school, where some parts of the 3-idiots film was short, is supported by the international donors as well as indian celebrities like Aamir Khan

Shey Palace: The former summer palace of the King of Ladakh and erstwhile royal residence of the Ladakh monarchs, is the main attraction.

Thiksey: Spectacularly sighted, Thiksey is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive gompa. There are several temples in this gompa, containing images stupas and wall painting of Buddha’s which are exquisite.

Stok Palace Museum: Where the present day royal family resides. Stok Palace and museum was built in the year 1825, by King Tespal Tondup Namgyal. At present the place has a collection of royal dresses and crown etc. which is open for travelers. Drive back to Leh.

Day 5: Departure from Leh, End of Tour
